Doron Lamb Kentucky Sophomore Leads White And Blue

At Kentucky basketball, the team does not rebuild, they just reload for another big season.  The Wildcats continue to pour talent into the NBA, but they still have tons of tools at their disposal.  Doron Lamb leads a successful young and quick Kentucky team in the 2011 college basketball season.

Kentucky Wildcats Doron Lamb Jersey

Doron Lamb #20 is a tall guard at 6’4” or so and can score at will early this year.  He looks to be a solid player and could be 1st team all American if he continues to play at this high level through the rest of the year. Things will get tougher in the SEC though.  The white and blue colors can always be seen during the game as UK has some of the best basketball fans in the country. There is no doubt about that.

While they are not as experienced as some of the teams in the top 5, the Wildcats should be able to make up for that come March Madness.  With an athletic team on the court and a few guys returning such as Lamb and Jones, UK Basketball should not have any trouble scoring points this season.

The team will have to mesh on defense and be able to blend the new talent with the other guys and they should get even better through the basketball year. Doron Lamb jerseys will be a hot Christmas item this year if he continues to score almost 20 points a game.

From the recent stars such as John Wall, it takes a great talent to impress people down in Lexington, but Lamb may be the next star in the making. It will be interesting to see if he comes out to the NBA after this year or sticks around to see what happens at the college level.

One thing is certain though, Kentucky takes their basketball seriously and he will not be overlooking even the next game.

Derrick Williams Arizona PF

At 6’8” and almost 240 pounds, Derrick Williams look like a lock to be a lottery pick in the next NBA draft.  This Arizona Wildcat follows a long list of other players at the school that went on to great NBA careers. He has the size and strength to be an immediate impact player for any team that drafts him next year.

He has become a very good scorer and can shoot very well for a big man.  He also has a fast move and quick shot that can get him to the rim.  That is probably why he is always on the foul line.  Many pro scouts compare him to Michael Beasley.  If he can lead Arizona to a deep tournament run he could be a top 3 pick with a few good workouts for some scouts as well.

Guys with this much athleticism do not come along very often, and when they do, they are drafted very high. He could improve on his defense a bit, but we are just splitting hairs here. This guy is the real deal and each time I watch him play I think he is just a monster on the court.

Many Arizona fans are longing for a good team, as it has been a few years since they have been really good. Around campus you see many kids with a white/blue Derrick Williams jersey on to show support. With such a rich history and NCAA title, they deserve the best and need to get back to the Final Four at least.

I am not sure how far they will go in March, but they have the talent to knock off a top 5 team on any given night.  Weird things happen and they did win the title as a #4 seed when they beat Kansas over a decade ago. Wow, seems so long ago now that I think about it…..

Wow, it looks like Williams could be wearing a Cavs jersey soon.  They may trade up  to get the first two picks in the draft.  Updates pending. Yup, you will soon see a Derrick Williams Timberwolves jersey this fall. Minnesota just snagged him with the #2 pick.

Kyrie Irving Duke Freshman PG

With the Duke Blue Devils coming off their 4th college basketball title they have big hopes for another great year led by a strong recruiting class.  Led by Kyrie Irving, the Dukies will probably be the ACC favorite again this year.

Irving will be on of  the best point guard prospects heading to Duke in some time. At about 6-2 he should remind people of John Wall and other great young point guards that can score as well.  He can do some crazy tricks and has many clips on You-tube of his amazing dribbling skills.  I think he may be a one and done guy if all goes well this year for Irving.

He should be an instant starter who can led them deep into the NCAA tournament again in the 2010 -2011 season.   Besides for his ball handling, he has a good jumper and decent long range.  I would not be surprised if the Kyrie Irving jersey is raised first in the 2011 NBA draft and maybe even hung in the rafters at Cameron.

With a smart head on his shoulders he should be a leader on and off the court.  Let us not get ahead of ourselves though. He has to produce or he will not live up to the hype.  Not all guys live up to their potential for various reasons.  I think he has all the tools in order to provide the Dukies with another great team.  Injuries are another reason some guys just cannot live up to the hype.

They have guys like Singler, Seth Curry amongst others that will give Irving many options on who to dish the ball too. Coach K will have him play a smart game and not make any mistakes.  If you remember how Bobby Hurley played in the Duke Blue gear then you should know that Coach K has his guys play smart games under control.

With November coming up the leaves will be turning and people will be getting their coats out.  The Blue Devils really are not much of a football school so the winter is a great time to be at Duke.  Looking back I kinda wish I went to school there. Oh well.

Update: With Irving declaring for the NBA draft come June 2011, it looks like he will be the number 1 pick. The Cleveland Cavs have that pick and many sources think that you will see a Kyrie Irving Cavs jersey this fall at the Q. I agree, that a solid point guard is a great way to rebuild that team. Irving as a Cav would make a great start.
