Chad Ochocinco Now A New England Pat

The Carson Palmer jersey has been a huge staple with the Bengals since he was drafted out of USC. He was a Heisman Trophy winner there and people thought he would be a sure thing. He was drafted high in the NFL draft by Cincinnati and has become a top tier NFL quarterback since his days at USC.  On a side note, Matt Cassel was his backup at USC.

Carson has played with Chad Johnson, now Chad Ochocinco for his career and both of them have helped each other get to the Pro Bowl.  Their offense is normally very good and if they run the ball well they could get to the Super Bowl. The Palmer Jerseys are worn throughout downtown on gameday and everyone in the city loves Carson. He plays hard and no one likes it when he gets hurt. Which seems to happen quite a bit unfortunately. Cedric Benson has really given the team a boost since his arrival. They also have a very good defense that can keep them in almost any game throughout the season.

The Bengals seem to go with how Palmer goes. When he does not play well the whole team has trouble winning games. He really means a lot to them and they need him to play at the highest level for them to succeed. The running game and defense then follow suit and that is when the Bengals are dangerous.

I would say Palmer is in the second tier of NFL quarterbacks right behind Manning, Brady, Brees and Favre. He can make any throw on the field and when he has time to throw the ball he can get it to the wide outs.

It will be interesting to see how long he stays in Cincinnati if they do not win the AFC soon.

Update:  No longer will Palmer be throwing to Chad Ochocinco, as you will now see a Patriots Ochocinco jersey in the stadium.  Chad Ochocinco will be a senior leader on the New England Pats and could help them get back to the Super Bowl.

Von Miller Denver Broncos

After a terrible year in 2010 the Denver Broncos are hoping to play much better defense so they do not have to score 40 points a game to win.

With drafting Von Miller out of Texas AM, they will sure up their defensive line / linebacker position and hopefully get some serious pass rush going in the 2011 NFL season. The Broncos really struggled against the run, as well as the pass, so this play should be a good one. It will also be interesting to see if they go with Tebow this year or will let Orton play.

It is my guess that Von Miller will start opening game for Denver and help them out. With Elway involved with the team I look for a huge turnaround and they could even win the AFC West.  With SD on the decline, you never know what KC will do, and Oakland is always a mystery. It is definitely possible that they could get into the playoffs with those teams around.

The NFL draft is often a guessing game, since so many of the college players look and play the same, you never know which one will turn out to be a star. You also never know which guy will be a dud. Each team makes mistakes but when you draft early you should really be sure to scout the talent with a fine toothed comb.

Overall, the draft is a fun time to be with your friends and see who goes where. Not many people know Von Miller yet, but they will soon.

Missouri Blaine Gabbert | NFL QB

With the draft just a few months away there is still debate on who will be the first quarterback taken. Some say Cam Newton, while the other people will say the unknown Blaine Gabbert from Mizzouri is the best QB in the draft.

The former Missouri Tiger lit it up in college and has the size, strength, and knowledge of a pro style offense to do very will in the NFL.

However, that does not make him a lock for the number one quarterback drafted. While he will not throw at the NFL combine, his good passing should be on display during his pro day. Many guys are doing that these days because they like to throw to their own wide outs and know ahead of time what throws they are going to make.

Gabbert seems to display all the intangibles of a good future QB. He is smart, can read a defense well, and is saying all the right things leading up to the NFL draft. Either way the teams choose, you will see a Blaine Gabbert jersey in the NFL soon.

I am not saying he will be the rookie of the year or anything, but I think he will play considerable minutes in the first year. Maybe like Sam Bradford did this year as he almost lead the Rams to the playoffs.

Things can change in a few months as some guys will look better than others in the combines and pro days and either rise or fall considerably in the draft come April. Even if a guy is deemed to be a lock, no such thing exists. Just look at the past guys drafted high like Ryan Leaf or Jamarcus Russell. Neither of them did much and had all the talent in the world. Should be a fun two months to discuss possible draft scenarios.

The Jags just took Gabbert from Missouri at #10.  Look to get a Blaine Gabbert Jacksonville jersey soon, as their hopes may be pinned to him soon, especially if Garrard does not last more than a few years.
