Many people wear sports jerseys and it would make sense that they would want to wear the UFC jersey of their favorite MMA fighter. Well, this is hard since they really do not have set uniforms like guys in other sports do. Most fight with no shirt and wear trunks that are small.
There are sponsors on them and sometimes they wear a t shirt or hat with logos on them, but their is not true jersey for each fighter. That makes it hard for fans to wear the gear of their favorite MMA guy, but there are other clothing lines out there that have UFC type clothing, such as Affliction and TapOut. They have t shirts, hats, shirts, coats and any other kind of apparel you can think of.
The UFC has come along ways since the days of Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock. Dan Severn was the first guy to challenge Gracie and he is actually still fighting around the world today. The sport started to evolve in the late 1990′s as more rounded fighters such as Frank Shamrock, Tito Ortiz, and Chuck Liddell made their way into the Octagon. While Gracie wore a BJJ Gi, there were still no UFC jerseys in those days either.
The UFC was then sold to the people that own it today and that took a few for them to get it to be successful, but it is sure taking off today. Ever since the Ultimate Fighter reality series came out the UFC has flew off the radar in popularity. That show got fighters like Forrest Griffin, Rashad Evans, Josh Koshcheck, Chris Leben, among others started in this sport. It is not cheap to train full time so these guys needed a chance to prove themselves and the show did just that.
Since the UFC bought out Pride FC a few years ago there is a ton of new talent coming into the UFC. Dan Henderson, Rampage Jackson, and Wandy Silva all came from Pride and are all huge fan favorites.
The current champs are all pretty good too. BJ Penn, St. Pierre, Anderson Silva and Brock Lesnar are all great fighters. So is Lloyto Machida. Many wonder if Fedor would be good if he was in the UFC, but we may never know that answer. It is a shame that all the great fighters cannot compete in the same league. Dan Henderson recently signed with Stikeforce giving them another big name. I think Vitor Belfort is there now too.
So if you are looking for UFC jerseys they do not really exist. Many fighters have their own brands so try to support your favorite guy that way. Recently there has been a problem with people trying to get free UFC streams on PPV ( Pay per view). This has caused the UFC to try to fight these sites that offer the UFC for free and show the fights on live streaming feeds during the telecast. This is costing them big money so it is no wonder that they are trying to shut down the illegal UFC free web sites.
Soon The Ultimate Fighter will appear on TV again and it looks like Tito and Chuck will be fun to watch. Ortiz has his own clothing company (I think it is Team Punishment) that sells his Ortiz jerseys and he will probably be wearing them with his staff, as who would not want free TV time, and Liddell should be more than annoyed throught all the episodes with Tito talking trash all the time. It should be fun to watch.
Besides for t shirts and training jerseys, may fans want own actual fighting shorts or UFC trunks that the professional fighters wear in the ring. This is sometimes harder to find, but many times you can get a good deal if you look around enough. Those shorts are normally cool enough to wear in public and look sweet. I am not talking about the tight trunks that some guys fight in though.
Maybe Kimbo Slice will make an appearance, but we shall see. You either love Kimbo or hate him, but he sure does add to ratings.
