One of the most sought after jersey of all the New York Yankees is the one worn by Derek Jeter.  He is admired and loved by baseball fans around the world.  Even people that do not watch baseball are well aware of who Jeter is.   He may be best known for his Gillette commercials with Tiger Woods and Roger Federer.

Since coming into MLB in 1995 Jeter has been on 4 World Series Championship teams.  The Yankees won in 1998-2000 and again in 2009.  He is a guaranteed Hall of Famer.  He has been an All Star 10 times and has a few Gold Glove awards to go along with him as well.  He even has a few MVP awards to top all that off.

Some even consider him the greatest shortstop of all time.  He also just passed Lou Gehrig for the all times hits leader for the New York Yankees.  All of these things make a Derek Jeter jersey really hard to find at an affordable price.

The thing most people like about Derek Jeter is that he is just a respectable guy. He always seems nice and is very professional both on and off the field.  He gives back to charity in the New York area every year and helps to encourage kids to get involved in sports. Jeter has also made many cameo appearances in various TV shows.

While he is getting a little older, he still wears his jersey with pride and plays as hard as anyone in the game today.  He still is a threat on the base paths and can really spray hits all over the field.  He defense is also very good still and can make any throw on the field.

With all those accomplishment you would think he was the number 1 draft pick. Well, that would be wrong.  He was taken 6th overall as a few teams passed him up.  His minor league career was good and he quickly made his way to the majors in a few short years.  It did not take him long to be a star either.

His current contract is worth millions and he intends to be a Yankee for life.  Anyone who wears a Derek Jeter jersey should wear it proud, because he is an honorable person who does the right things on and off the field.  Jeter has been the team captain for the past 6 years as well.
