If you are unfamiliar with Dez Bryant that is because he missed most of his senior season at Oklahoma State after he was deemed to be ineligible. This was a huge blow to the Cowboys and hurt their chances of winning the Big 12 championship which was later won by Colt McCoy and the Texas Longhorns.
No fear though for fans of his, as the Dez Bryant jersey will still be shown early on draft day. He is projected to be the number one receiver taken in the draft and should provide his team with quality production in the NFL, granted he does not do the holdout thing like Crabtree did. Many think he has similar talent and should excel at the next level.
He has sticky hands and break away speed that should allow him to run deep routes as well as over the middle. This is key to being a successful wide out in the pros as just speed alone may not get you far.
The thing is he may be a steal in the NFL draft because people did not see him play much, and might slip behind some other players that have quite a bit of hype. It will be interesting to see how he does in the NFL combine and this could determine when his jersey is called on draft day.
There are some other wide outs playing well too, like Golden Tate of Notre Dame who is super fast and could move into the top 15 on draft day.
Overall, I am a fan of Bryant and think he will be a good pro, especially if he gets drafted by a team that can move the ball and has a quarterback that can get him some good chances. I just hope he does not land in Oakland, as they are really struggling on offense and we saw how that fared for Hayward-Bey last year.
Looks like Dez Bryant was just drafted in the 1st round, a bit later than I had him going. You will be seeing a Dez Byrant Cowboys jersey this fall as Jerry Jones thought he is the man to take them to the next level. Romo should be happy to have a deep threat of his caliber.
