For the longest time Babe Ruth was the all time home run leader. The Great Bambino was regarded as the greatest power hitter of all time until Hank ( Henry ) Aaron came along and smashed more homers that Ruth did. It took Aaron over twenty years, but finally grabbed the record for good and never looked back. One of my first gifts was a Hank Aaron autographed baseball. This was really something special and I still have it to this day. Back then there were not people selling them so the supply was not as good as it is today.

Autographed baseballs are always nice because they have the personal feeling to them. It is special to look at the ball and have a real life pen mark on it. The fake autographs that are just stamped are nothing special and no one really cares about that kind of signed ball.

I never really wanted Bonds to break his record, but it does happen. If he did not do it a bet Arod would have soon or later any way. Now, many are doubting if Aaron should still have the real record with all the steroid debate going on.

Be sure to protect your signed balls by keeping them in an airtight case so that the do not get discolored over time. It may be nice to take them out and show people but the oils on your hands will damage them. The last thing you want is a messed up Hank Aaron autographed baseball that your Grandpa gave you 20 years ago. I would not be happy at that, trust me.
