UCONN basketball is never going to be without at least a few good players. With Jeremy Lamb that is also very true. He is a scorer who has filled in nicely with the departure of Kemba Walker. Lamb is an athletic player who has many tools and not many weaknesses. Fans should get the Lamb jersey soon, before it is too late and they could sell out before the holidays. This can often happen as everyone tries to buy the same jersey or gear before Xmas.
Once again UConn is a top 10 team or so and they will need to be ready for conference play when the Big East season opens up. While they may not be the best football conference, Big East basketball is probably the deepest conference year in and year out in all of college basketball. With 16 teams and close to 10 that could make the NCAA tournament, you could lose on any given night either on the road or at home. It is always too early to crown anyone in that conference.
Jeremy is a talented player, but needs to have stars around him. Andre Drummond is a good young player that should be able to work side by side with the rest of the guys and get the Huskies to the point where they can make a deep run in the tournament. Normally they are not satisfied until they get to the Final Four or better.
With many players looking at the trouble in the NBA with the new contract deals and all that jazz, there is a chance some of these talented players will play 3 or 4 years in college before making the leap to the pros. Specifically if the owners get their way and reduce rookie type pay and contracts on guaranteed payouts. Either way, look for Lamb to be a star for some time.
