Manny has always been Manny no matter which jersey he has worn. Ramirez will go down as one of the best hitters of all time. The latest PED scandal cost him some, but he has always been able to hit and that is clear. The Dodgers took a chance on him after Boston thought he was too much trouble. Manny won a championship in Boston and then led the Dodgers to the playoffs almost by himself.
Ramirez first put on a jersey for the Indians back in the early 1990′s and quickly became one of the best hitters in the AL. Here, he became an RBI machine and quickly became unaffordable for Cleveland to keep around. He then took his great swing and swagger to the Boston Red Sox and soon the Manny Ramirez jersey became one of the best things to own in Boston. His jerseys also sold great in LA and Cleveland, but he won his world series in Boston.
Some people do not like Manny because of his carefree and sometimes lazy attitude. The fact is he can hit no matter how lazy and non interested he seems, he loves baseball and will always play his best. His fielding got much better and he played the Green Monster well with the Sox. In Cleveland it was once rumored he had 3 months worth of paychecks not cased in his locker. He just did not need the money at the time so he felt no need to cash them. Who knows if that is true but he is a good guy. He helped his neighbor sell a grill on EBay, so how bad can he be.
Overall Ramirez may be one of the best overall hitters of all time. He has power and of course average. Many like to wear his jersey with the carefree attitude he loves so much. His work ethic is often overlooked as he loves to hit and learn about hitting.
