The Yankees season is about to get under way and them and the Red Sox are the early favorites to capture the AL East and move toward the World Series. Their offense should be one of the best in the league with ARod, Teixeira, Jeter and the rest of the team. They should score runs throughout the lineup and it would not surprise me to get back to the World Series.
Yankees jerseys are always found anywhere in the city as their fans rank up there with Boston for some of the best. Year in and year out Yankee hats, jerseys, shirts, and other gear are amongst the top sellers in baseball. With their legacy of success, there is no reason why that wont continue into the near future.
I forgot to mention how great their pitching should be this year. With CC Sabathia, Burnett, Pettitte, amongst a great starting pitching staff they could really win close to 120 games this year if everyone can play up to their potential all star caliber level. Rivera can still close games out with the best of them so they just have to get it to the 9th inning and the game should be sealed.
No matter your age, youth, adult or even older, you should at least have some respect for the Yankees and how their classy players represent themselves. Sure they may have a odd one every one and again, but the organization is a class act as a whole.
The Red Sox should provide some stiff competition and the loser of the division should probably get a good chance of landing the wild card and still having the chance to work their way to the series.
I think their offense is amongst one of the best of all time so it would not be a shock to see them take another title in 2010.
