We do not even notice it, but we go through most days and pass people on the street wearing various sports jerseys.  While we may not think much about it, showing off your favorite player or team by wearing their jersey has been around for a long time.  It gives people a sense of pride to show that they like and appreciate what that athlete does on the field.  Also, they are very comfortable and many people wear them for that reason alone.

Finding cheap sports jerseys is not that hard.  Many places have them on sale for under 20 bucks or you can by them used for even cheaper. Remember though, you get what you pay for, as these are the lower quality ones and are not nearly as nice as authentic sports jerseys.  Whether it is baseball, basketball, football, soccer or whatever your sport is, there is a jersey made for it.  I bet you cannot find a game that does not offer one.

If you think you cannot get your favorite player from the last few decades on your back think again, as their are now throwback sports jerseys that go back to the vintage days.  There is no player that you cannot find now and do not be surprised to see little known players too.

The market is huge for these things and everyone seems to be buying them. Whether it is the NFL, NBA, or MLB, the major sports have a great marketing strategy for their best players.  They get their names out there and the fans buy the apparel, including hats, shirts and so on.

I think many people are under the feeling that wearing a jersey makes them look like they are going to the game, but that is not always the case. They wear well with jeans even so do not be afraid to wear them outside of sporting events.  Most sports apparel, like hats, really goes well with other clothing and can even be very fashionable if done right.

If you want to get a great bargain on a jersey then try your local goodwill or salvation army. Many people give away old ones that no longer fit. These can be had for just a few dollars a piece, so it is worth a look to see if their are any in your size.  The most common sizes are large and XL, but you may be able to find some other sizes, like youth, kids, medium and 2XL and above if you are lucky or maybe even snag an authentic or throwback jersey if you are really lucky. These normally are not as common so I doubt you would find one at a thrift shop.

Watching these athletes perform on TV really makes us want to be part of the team. While they probably will not happen, we can still wear the gear the pros wear, even if we cannot play like them. So look for some for sale and buy yourself a little gift. You only live once so spending a few bucks on buying a jersey should not be that big of a deal. Just be sure to pay everything else up first.
