Robinson Cano In Yankee Uniform

Baseball player Robinson Cano  can be seen on the field at second base for The New York Yankees where his game is one of the best 2nd basemen in MLB today. This guy bats left and throws right, and will surprise us in the future  as a potential hall of famer. This 6 foot baseball player has a lot of potential and The Yankees are lucky to have him.

Teammates A.J. Burnett with Jersey #34 is an awesome addition to The Yankees, he also has played for The Florida Marlins in the past for seven years, watch out for this pitcher’s curve ball. Francisco Cervelli, this guy may be new to the league but he’s got one awesome grip when he catches the ball, look for his Jersey #29 at the catcher’s mound!

Derek Jeter #2 Jersey has been playing since the early seventies he loves to make the game interesting, and plays shortstop. Nick Johnson #26 is one of the league’s first baseman he towers over all his teammates, but he loves the game and takes pride in the game. Alex Rodriguez #13 plays third base this year and also played for the Seattle Mariners and The Texas Rangers, this guy is on fire, whether he hits the ball or is running bases.

One thing’s for sure this will be a memorable season I think The Great Bambino would be proud, this team has a lot of nostalgia to follow, and it gets even better every time a game is played! Look up to the skies as the ball flies, and as the stands go wild. Information on the players and more can be found at www.sports.yahoo.com.

If you are looking for a Robinson Cano jersey for a good price then check various places before making a purchase. Sometimes you can find good sales at local stores or even at the ballpark. Most jerseys can be had for a discount if you know where to look and how to find some cheap bargains from time to time.

Tim Wakefield | Old School Jerseys

For me, knuckleball pitchers are interesting, and Tim Wakefield is a knuckleball pitcher. Every time I see someone throw 95 MPH, I shake my head and say, “how do they do that?.” Every time I see a knuckleball pitcher throw, I say, “I can do that!”

Tim played college ball at Florida Tech as a first baseman. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates as a corner infielder. After being told by one scout that he would never make it past Double A ball with his skills, Tim decided to try throwing the knuckler so he could look back and say that he had tried everything he possibly could to make it.

He certainly picked something that most people ignored. There are rarely more than two knuckleball pitchers in the major leagues at any one time. There are only three pitchers in the Hall of Fame who relied on the knuckleball. Even though the pitch is notoriously difficult to throw for strikes and takes an inordinate amounts of patience to learn, Tim has been one of the most consistent pitchers in baseball amassing 189 wins and almost 2000 strikeouts in his career.

Tim has been with the Boston Red Sox since 1995 wearing number 49 and winning championships with Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz and the rest. You will not see as many Tim Wakefield jerseys as you will of Big Papi, but he is still very popular and does a good job on the mound.

He is currently third on the all time Boston Red Sox wins list with 175, trailing only two slightly more well known pitchers, Cy Young and Roger Clemens. He is also ninth on the career hit batters list, a stat he may or may not be proud of. But I’m sure he’s proud to have been nominated for the Roberto Clemente Award seven times due to his charitable acts and his commitment to community.

Tim Wakefield seems to be one of the last of a dying breed, the knuckleball pitcher; baseball’s version of the dodo bird. Will his consistent success prompt millions of young boys to start learning that mysterious and wacky pitch known as the knuckleball? Probably not, but for now it sure is fun watching batters hack wildly at thin air just like I did when I played. Now that’s interesting!

Miguel Tejada Jersey

Miguel Tejada has played professional baseball for over 13 years. He has played for both National as well as American League teams. Despite his 36 years of age Miguel’s bat still has a tendency to blast balls out of the park. He’ll play a vital role in the playoff aspirations of the Baltimore Orioles this year.

La Gua Gua as he is called by his friends has a long track record for hitting home runs. La Gua Gua means the bus in Spanish in his native Dominican Republic. He affectionately earned this nickname do to his tendency to drive in runs whenever he steps up to the plate. Many of his fans love having a Tejada jersey on their backs to show their support for their man.

In his career he’s done this a total of 1,183 times. His 286 career homeruns makes him a future candidate for Cooperstown especially since he’s played as a shortstop for most of his time in the pros.  That position is historically not a power hitting position and his stats rank great compared with most at that position.

Tejada’s most impressive career statistic is his consecutive game streak. He nearly broke Cal Ripken’s record for consecutive games played, but he just came up short. His longevity has caused his reflexes and bat speed to slightly decline the last 2 years. This is why he currently plays third base as opposed to his accustomed shortstop with the Orioles.

Tejada’s # 10 jersey has often earned the respect and admiration from other players based on his dedication to the game as well as his loyalty to his teammates. Matt Wieters and Luke Scott both have learned to admire Miguel’s ability to play every single day.

Miguel’s personality along with his athleticism has allowed him to be successful while participating in America’s favorite pass time. He seems to be a nice guy on and off the field.
