Old Dominion just upset Notre Dame in the NCAA basketball tournament. As usual, the CAA Conference does itself proud. I am surprised people still seed these teams so low considering they consistently are knocking off big name schools in the big dance.
The Monarchs are just a solid basketball team that does not have many weaknesses. They should be able to compete with whoever they play in the second round. I remember years ago when they beat Nova in the tournament too.
Now their will be Old Dominion jerseys popping up all over the place. Remember when George Mason went to the Final Four a few years ago, that was a life changing thing for that university and enrollment was up huge just on that fact alone.
Kids want to go to winners for school and now you will have many kids wanting a Old Dominion jersey, hat, or t shirt to show their support for their great school.
It was a low scoring game today and it shows that their defense can play with the big BCS conference schools. They can also score points when needed as they came back from an early deficit to overtake Notre Dame. The Old Dominion Monarchs should celebrate tonight, but then get ready for their next opponent on Saturday.
