West Virginia has just upset UK to earn their way to the Final Four. I am shocked to say the least, as now 4 of my brackets have been ruined and only 1 remains. Congrats to WVU as they are now cutting down the nets with their Final Four shirts and hats on in celebration of their historic night.
With the early game being good, this game really was not close as the Mountaineers jerseys pesky defense caused some of the worst 3 point shooting I have seen my whole life. Really, it was awful what UK shot from behind the arc.
I bet fans from West Virginia will be in Indianapolis in droves next week with their WVU jersey on, since it is not that far of a drive from Morgantown to get their. We all know their fans travel well too, so getting their fans to support them is never a problem.
It should be interesting to see them match up with either Duke or Baylor, both of which are good teams. Duke is not as physical as in year’s past but still play a solid game with very few mistakes each time they suit up. Baylor can get up and down the court with the best of them so I think WVU better matches up against Duke.
As always, College Basketball is great this time of year and it is always entertaining to watch these games, because the favorites never all win the games. The early rounds have a few big upsets with no name teams while these later rounds see the big favorites, such as Kentucky, get upset when no one thinks they can lose. Just crazy.
It should be fun to watch the West Virginia Mountaineers in the Final 4, as this is the closest they came to a national title in any sport since Pat White and Slaton were on the football team.
Should be fun.
