Call me crazy, but I bet Ed Davis will be called during one of the first 5 picks in this years NBA Draft next June. At UNC he was a great player and his jersey was often seen in the rafters in his support. The Tar Heel fans are among some of the best in College Basketball history and it is no doubt that is one reason so many top athletes go to school there.

He helped lead them to the NCAA Title a few years ago with that loaded team that had guys drafted all in the first round. I think there were big hopes for him but he got hurt last year and could not show his full potential. I think many people thought he was a lottery lock when he decided to go back to school for another year, and even though he got hurt I bet he will still be a top 5 pick in the draft.

Many think Jon Wall will be the first pick and Turner will go second, but you never know what kind of trades could be worked out with this Free Agent class coming up. With guys like Lebron James and others available, it could be very interesting to see what happens this off-season.

My projection is for Ed Davis to be in a Warriors jersey next year and play along Curry and Ellis. That I think would put in in the 6th or so draft pick.

There have been many guys out of UNC to have great careers at the next level. Many will even have their jerseys raised in the sports hall of fame. Whether it is college or the NBA, any hall of fame is a great accomplishment that can never be taken away.

Should be a fun night no matter what happens.

Looks like the Toronto Raptors will be having the likes of Ed Davis on their squad. Look for him to be popular since they had another UNC star there named Vinsanity.  I bet the Davis Raptors jersey will be a hot seller this summer.

Derrick Favors | GA Tech Basketball

With the NBA draft just around the corner, everyone is either talking about John Wall or Evan Turner. As they should be, since they two should be going first and second in the NBA draft this June. However, there are many more quality players out that that should get some attention and even win rookie of the year next season.

Derrick Favors is a big young guy from Georgia Tech that plays down low and should be able to be a double-double guy in the NBA. He is strong and has a good tough down low. His strength and defensive presence could change the game and it would not surprise me to see him possibly win the rookie of the year awarded like Tyreke Evans did last year for the Sacramento Kings.

I was down at GA Tech last year and saw many Derrick Favors jerseys around town, many knew then he would be leaving for the league after his freshman year, but still supported him anyway. He was their best player but could not get them over the hump to a very successful year in the ACC.

It should be a good year for Favors. I think Derrick matured a long way as a freshman at Tech last year and is ready for the big time. It may be a few years before we see how good he can really be, but I think he has all the tools to be a dominant center or forward in the NBA next year. I think he will be a top 5 pick or maybe 10 at the lowest. He offers so much there will be a team needed a big man if his skill level, that is for sure. With only a month away, it will be an exciting time in the off-season.

Derrick Favors is now a New Jersey Net and I think he will start right away next year in the NBA.  The Nets were awful last year and they need the Favors jersey putting up at least 20 points a night next year for them to be competitive. Unless maybe they land a great free agent. We shall see.

Evan Turner OSU Jersey | NBA Draft 2010

If you are wearing Ohio State gear this time of year chances are it is an Evan Turner jersey.  He is currently one of the best players in the NCAA and is leading the Buckeyes to a possible Big Ten title. Turner is a great shooter and has the size to play down in the post too.  He is averaging almost 20 points and 10 rebounds a game and is poised to be a top 5 draft pick in the 2010 NBA draft. Many think he could go second behind John Wall of Kentucky.

Turner is currently a junior and many think he will skip is last year at OSU and turn pro. There is really not much else for him to prove and he should go out while is stock is high. Many OSU fans will be disappointed but his jersey will probably be retired in Columbus one day soon.

Turner should be able to play either small forward or shooting guard in the NBA. At 6’7” he will give any one a tough match up when he suits it up on the hardwood. He kind of reminds me of a more physical Stephan Curry who played at Davidson.

Once draft day comes the Evan Turner jerseys will be selling like hot cakes for whatever team drafts him. New Jersey or Minnesota look awful right now and could land a top 3 pick and snag Evan. Besides for him and Wall I am not sure any other guys are really standing out now.

We will know more about the draft after each player works out for the scouts and we can see them on the floor and playing with other guys of similar skills. Often the college stars do not play as well when they face top talent that they are not used to going against.

As usual the NBA draft will be very exciting and since it is only two rounds all the picks will be good. In the NFL it takes so many hours that many people cannot stay focused and lose interest. I know I have a hard time following two full days of the draft.

Evan Turner was just drafted second by the Philadelphia 76ers and I bet the fans there have something to cheer about next year. Many people will be getting a Turner 76er jersey and I think he could even have a better NBA career than John Wall. A big shooting guard that can dribble will go along way in this league.  Just look at Kobe.
