You want to know a guy that flies under the radar, think about Frank Gore. This guy can run, catch and block with the best of any running back in the NFL. Frank has played for the 49Er’s since he was drafted in 2005. He spent his college career at the Miami of Florida, but had some injuries and other competition to deal with there. Willis McGahee played on the same team as Gore and this took some carries away from Gore. Number 21 has battled injuries on and off for his whole career. He often even plays hurt and makes the best out of his injuries.
Anyone should want to own a Frank Gore jersey. He is not as well known as other running backs because he plays on a decent team and is on the west coast. He can catch the ball out of the backfield as good as any other back in the game. He makes San Francisco a team to never overlook. Fantasy football owners love Gore since once they are inside the 5 yard line he can either power the ball in or catch it on a swing pass. This guy is a fantasy football hero. Many games have been won on his shoulders.
San Fran is having an average year this year and needs to gain a few games on the Cardinals to have any chance of winning the division. They are probably not good enough to snag a wild card slot so they have to win the division outright.
Other great Miami running backs include Ottis Anderson, Willis McGahee, Edgerrin James, amongst others. They also have put many other pros into the NFL. They have had a few down years but are getting to be a better team again this year.
An interesting side note is Gore is one of only two NFL players to have TD runs of over 75 yards in the same game. With this kind of talent it is no wonder people want to wear a Frank Gore jersey.
