With a 7 – 0 record to start the season, much of that success has to be because of Sammy Watkins. However, someone has to throw him the ball. Tajh Boyd is a good quarterback that has a strong arm and can move very well in the pocket. Also, he can scramble just fine and is a threat to score with his legs as well.
The Clemson offense is ticking and they are legitimate national title contenders. Many fans are buying their Tajh Boyd jersey before they get to the bowl game and have them sold out. Clemson fans really support their team well and if they can get a victory over UNC and move to 8 – 0 they could sneak into the top 5. Just a few more losses and they have to be in contention for the BCS title game. However, they do have a few hurdles in front of them.
Both LSU and Alabama have great football teams and while they will have to play each other, some think one of those one loss teams may still have a shot to make the title game. Also, OK State, Oklahoma and others may have something to say about that as well. However, Clemson Tigers’ football has never been this pumped up and they are catching people by surprise as one of the best stories in college football this year.
With Boyd being a good quarterback who does not turn the ball over much, the only real question is if the defense can make enough stops to win the game. While they give up points, they have held strong when it matters over the course of the year so far. Tajh knows by keeping the ball on offense and continuing to move down field, they will have very successful games and should be favored to win out.
However, we all know college football changes each week so who knows what could happen next. The orange and white will be out to support their team though!
